about

Rory wrote this for his wife, Heather, after they were married. He tried to capture those excited / terrified feelings that he had during the first few weeks after they met.

lyrics

They say the devil's in the details, now I know what they mean
When you took my hand that night
I did not know what to believe
I've had the same thing so many times
Can't get my heart off my sleeve
But if you tell me that you'll stay awhile
I don't think I'll ever leave

Come on, come on, come on Heather please

Seasons change, people come and go
That's just the way that it is
But the more I see the more afraid I am
Of making promises
I am no prophet, nor prophet's son
I just try to tell it like it is
But you make me want to be a better man
And I could get used to this

Come on, come on, come on Heather please
Come on, come on, come on Heather please
I think that you're the one for me
Come on, come one, come on Heather please

I think that you're the one for me
Give me your trust and you will see
I'll give you back the best of me
Cause I think that you're the one for me

Come on, come on, come on Heather please
